Music Monday - Train

I've never had a soy latte - But I've always liked this line....

"Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken Your best friend always sticking up for you even when I know you're wrong Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance five-hour phone conversation The best soy latte that you ever had . . . and me"

It comes from the song Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me) by Train

This hit song came from the group's second album and won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Song. The album itself was somewhat of a misfit. It was hard to place in one single genre. Many in the industry place it comfortably in the Adult Contemporary Market but there are others who advocated placement in rock, indie rock, and even country. I won't get into that debate. I just like the song and the catchy lines.

That's why it's my choice for Music Monday this week.

Enjoy -

I think I'm going to add this song to my iPod! I really like it!

I was really glad you added the explanation of why you chose the song and how it won an award and all. I am a real music illiterate, so it helped. :)

The images in the video were quite stunning!

Thanks for a great song!

Yeah, I broke down and posted Spandau Ballet! (Just be grateful it wasn't the Bay City Rollers!) I liked all Spandau's music even the early stuff - they definately developed musically which I liked -rather than just sticking to the same sound for their entire career.

I'm still waiting for you to post Duran Duran though!

Okay, I've not heard of Train - I guess they're big in the USA but not here - but the song is really good. I like the video too - the angel imagery - although it petered out a bit towards the end.

Love that song and had forgotten who recorded it... ~Really nice imagery in those lyrics and a creative spin on the one love/two dreams conflict.
