Gas Prices!

In my opinion, gas prices are just way too high! I drove by this station the other day - No way I was going to stop here for gas. I feel like these owners are taking advantage of the situation. Their prices are at least 50 cents per gallon higher than the other stations in the area. Maybe they're selling "magic gas" that can give you 70 miles to the gallon. I doubt it! Believe it or not there were people pumping gas when I drove by. I haven't figured out why their gas is so much higher than their competitors. (Maybe their operating costs are high - Perhaps the owners are high!)

If you have any ideas-(The funnier the better) please leave a comment below!

Most of the gas stations in my local area are now over $4.00 per gallon for regular unleaded gas. I read today that prices in the United States are still about $1.00 per liter cheaper than most of the Western countries in the world so if the current globalization trend continues, I suppose you can guess that our prices will continue to climb. $5.00 per gallon is on the horizon! I know this isn't great news but here's a bone: Follow this link to find the lowest priced stations in your area. Click here to follow the Link

You can type in your zip code and it will list the prices in that area. You can also sort by gas category, i.e., premium, mid range, and regular.

Good Luck!

Well Mr I the cost of diesel of here is varying between £1.28 and £1.34 a litre.( Or is that gallon?Oh, Miss Jayne knows not she just puts the stuff in and hopes for the best....) Now Mr I can you explain why Americans use the term "gas" for what we British call fuel/petrol? Over here "gas" is used as defined in the dictionary as... Oh wait a minute the dictionary explanation is far too long to copy I will have use my own definition..

"Stuff that you can't see, sometimes in the air, the ground or if you're very unlucky in the pants of the person sitting next to you."

Did that fully explain? Possibly not. Ah well, now over here we do have people using "gas" not petrol in their cars. In fact I had even considered converting my dearly departed Volvo to "gas" but there weren't really enough suppliers in the area to ensure that I didn't get stranded somewhere having to rely on manufacturing my own gas. (And as Miss Jayne is a lady she finds such topics most uncouth; she is a pure English Rose.)Anyway, I'd assume this is also the the case in the USA so.. what do you call proper "gas".. "diesel"?? Can you follow? I'm not sure if I can either! Oh dear... Miss Jayne needs to stop doing housework and writing riduculous stories and use her brain more...

Oh, I do like the idea of "magic gas!" But then I like the idea of most things magical; including magic chocolate where one could eat as much as one liked and never put any weight on...

You know those garage owners probably ARE selling "magic gas"; I 've heard that some Americans will buy into anything; especially anything with a Disney logo. Of course I didn't believe it was true as I have a very generous spirit and then of course Mr Bush was elected....

Anyway I must dash as I have important jobs to do using my magic duster and magic scrubbing brush I will have to pop back later and look at this Million Dollar thingy. Do you think you could translate it first for me it all sounds a little complicated...

I cringe every time. These ridiculous prices have made me a more strategic driver, and I'm making use of every gas-related promotion I can find. And coasting down hills when the pain grows too great...
If only I could fit three kids on the back of my bike!

Heather,

I'll start looking for a four-person bicycle. That could be the new in thing!

Miss Jayne, you must laugh frequently at how we "Americans" have taken the "Queen's english" and turned it into a laughable language that only we can understand. Anyway... Yes! We have a few gas machines (cars) over here as well. And don't confuse this gas with the other gas. One is short for gasoline and the other one is short for propane gas! Are you really confused now?

Jane Turley said...

Oh yes, I am most definately confused!
(Please remember I am only a housewife who already has trouble enough discerning the difference between margarine and butter - let alone various gases!)
